SPECIAL EVENTS IN SAVANNAH IN MARCH!

Savannah Onstage

You're invited to several special events as Georgia Public Radio visits the Savannah OnStage International Arts Festival! The festival features many concerts by internationally-known musicians, and takes place March 1-10 in historic Savannah, Georgia. Georgia Public Radio is pleased to sponsor some events. Tune in to Midday Music on WSVH/WWIO during the first weeks of March to hear selected performances from the festival.

Opening Concert

Friday, Mar 1, at 8:00 pm, at Trinity United Methodist Church

Lisa Simeone, of NPR's Weekend All Things Considered, hosts the opening
concert of the festival, featuring the Canadian ensemble Quartetto Gelato,
performing music ranging from classical and opera to tangos and folk songs.

The Georgia Public Radio book discussion show invites you to take part in this
special program. Host St. John Flynn welcomes Georgia author Augusta Trobaugh
to talk about her recently-published novel, "Sophie and the Rising Sun," set on the
Georgia coast south of Savannah. Admission is free.
